Why we publish our prices (and nobody else does)

Every other solar consultancy in Yorkshire hides their fees. They want you on a call before you know the cost. We think that's backwards. You deserve to know what you're paying before you pick up the phone. Transparent pricing builds trust — and that's exactly how we want to start every client relationship.

Pricing FAQ

If Path B is free for me, how does RJ Solar get paid?
+

Our consultancy fee (4–8% of project value) is charged to the installation companies who quote on your job. They factor it into their price. Because we drive competitive tendering, the overall price you pay is typically lower than going direct to a single installer — even with our fee included.

What determines whether I pay £500 or £2,000 for a Feasibility Study?
+

Three factors: (1) remote vs on-site assessment, (2) project size and complexity, and (3) whether battery storage or EV charging is in scope. A simple single-roof assessment is at the lower end. Multi-building sites with storage push toward the higher end. We'll give you a fixed quote before any work starts.

Can I start with Path A and upgrade to Path B later?
+

Absolutely. Many clients start with a Feasibility Study to get clarity, then engage us for Full Turnkey once they've decided to go ahead. Your Feasibility Study fee is credited toward the Full Turnkey engagement.

Are there any hidden costs or ongoing fees?
+

No. The quoted fee is the total fee. No VAT on solar consultancy services. No monthly retainers. No surprise charges. The 12-month performance review is included in the Full Turnkey price at no extra cost.

What size projects do you work with?
+

Commercial systems from 20kWp upward. If your business spends more than £20,000/year on electricity, solar is almost certainly worth exploring. The ROI calculator on our site can give you a quick estimate.
